That Girl Who Gave Life

That day she wore the black scarf,
She rushed out to get it,
It was on the wires,
With clips on them,
The printed flowers,
Dancing to the tune of the wind,
She wrapped it around the neck,
The loose end flying high,
Trying to catch her hair,
That girl had given life,
To a new friendship.

That day on the train,
She made way for an old man,
The man only smiled,
He got ready to get off four stops later,
He passed on a note to her,
It said Thank You,
Here's another book you should read,
That girl had given life,
To a new story.

That evening,
She adjusted her scarf,
Looked at herself in the mirror,
She was unsure how she felt,
But she quickly gathered herself,
She knew she would be fine in the next few weeks,
The woman with the white coat had said it herself,
That girl had given life,
To a new confidence.
