Touch of feminism..!!
Since the times homo sapiens existed, man must've realized that he was physically stronger than the female. They must've fought till the woman realized that it was no use to win over him physically and gave up. It was this decision which gave him the oppurtunity to start the never ending domination. She gave up centuries ago and is still giving up. There seems no bound to her sufferings. with time man has reached new levels. He has become a techno savy. But what still remains intact is his instinct to dominate over the opposite sex. Infact, it seems more like an obsession, a need without which he never is satisfied!
Women suffer in ways unimaginable...FEMALE FOETICIDE...apart from this the killing of women exists in various other ways such as dowry deaths and sati( although sati has been reduced immensely). Female foeticide as I consider is the most extreme and disgusting form of violence against women. Accd to a recent report by the UNICEF upto 50 million girls and women are missing from India's population as a result of systematic gender discrimination( dunno why it's systematic..!!) .It has been reported that that over 274 girls die in Punjab everyday even before they are born. In some parts of the country the ratio of girls to boys has dropped to less than 800:1000. Although the govt of India has passed the pre- conception and pre-natal diagnostic techniques which is the prohibition of sex determination, it still continues in numbers which brings shame to an almost developed and one of the most leading countries in this world. in Hinduism people believe that the birth of a male child is essential. But whats even more male chauvinistic accd to me is this catchline used by a diagnostic team with ultrasound scanners ," SPEND 600 NOW AND SAVE 50,000 LATER( DOWRY)". I happened to come across this recently in the newspaper, women in orissa or someplace( im not sure) but its north india ,were accused of being witches. they were stripped off thier clothes and made to parade the entire village. What is the govt doing?? If stories like this are being published in the newspapers what is the govt doing to prevent it?? Why is it still happening?? Isn't a woman's life worth saving? Knowing these gruesome facts it is now we Youngisthanis who can bring about the change. It is we who can say ' Screw the system, its done nothing anyway'!! The first step towards this is EDUCATE PEOPLE. Tell men of your own house what their doing to women indirectly or directly is not right..!!
It is we who can eradicate violence against women. So lets unite together and say " GIVE A GIRL CHILD A CHANCE TO LIVE AND MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE".

ReplyDelete1)Women didn't let men dominate since the beginning of time. there was just division of labour. One would hunt, for sustenance and the other would take care of the progeny, for continuance....Modern societies just developed to give more importance to the food part than the womb. But, ofcourse you seem to have understood that it was a calculated measure to subdue women and sort of demonize them.
2)I liked that you have a lot of information on your article..when did you learn so much???..;)
but you should, everytime you are talking of women and their social stifling of sorts, address HONOR KILLING, something that I believe is a horrendous idea almost usurping all unclaimed territories of control over women.
3)As a would be journalist, my sincere un-affected plea to you is to, at every point, make government a part of your solution, Of all the forms of governments that are possible you already know that democracy is the lesser evil, so the government should have unrestrained chance to clear their mess and with adequate people support.
4)After reading this much, I know you want kick me with all your might. But with net access and virtuality, it's kinda impossible,,,,so HA HA!!!
